Logitech Keys-To-Go Keyboard Review

Slim, lightweight, and sturdy, the Logitech Keys-to-Go keyboard is a perfect match for tablet or phone users who are ready to type a storm when they are on the road. While the keyboard does not have programmable keys or an easy way to switch Bluetooth connections between devices, the Ultra-thin Keyboard-To-Go keyboard design, and impressive feel, make it an attractive choice for productivity-centered road warriors.

The Design

The Keys-To-Go keyboard ($ 70 list) certainly matches its name as far as portability is concerned. Only 6 millimeters thick, the 5.4 x 9.5 x 0.24-inch Keys-To-Go is approximately the same length as the iPad Air. And a little bit more than an inch narrower, making it just right when you carry both in one hand.

The 6.4-ounce keyboard feels light but is surprisingly sturdy. Even better, the Keys-To-Go keyboard covered with a waterproof cloth designed to remove crumbs & spills. As a test, we held the keyboard under the tap for a few seconds, and the water rolled directly from the button. Wipe quickly with a paper napkin to dry the keyboard altogether. Unfortunately, the Micro USB charging port that opens on the side of the keyboard means you might have to hold back from typing in the tub.

Included in the Keys-To-Go box is a small and sturdy metal bracket to support the phone or tablet. Shifting the Button-To-Enter into the slot on the bracket gives a very thin flat keyboard incline.

The bracket that comes with the Keys-To-Go keyboard can support your phone or tablet.

Connectivity & platform support

Connecting a Keys-To-Go keyboard to your PC or mobile device is a reasonably simple process. Just turn on the keys-to-go, then open the Bluetooth settings on the device you want to connect to and tap “Keys-To-Go” in the list of available gadgets.

Unfortunately, the Keys-To-Go keyboard can’t quickly switch Bluetooth connections between multiple devices, a feature that will be useful on mobile-centric devices like this.

We should also note that the Keys-To-Go got two versions. One that works with iOS devices, and the second one that supports Android and Windows. If you want more flexibility, consider Kensington’s KP400, which embraces Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and can juggle two devices. Logitech K380 even more, adding ChromeOS and AppleTV and switching between three at once.

The nuances of typing

There is no question about that. The Keys-To-Go keyboard is getting used to it. And if you expect a 6-millimeter-thick keyboard to feel as good as a full-size model, you will be disappointed. That said, the more we tested the keypad, the earlier our resistance melted.

Apart from the skinny keyboard design, the buttons boast decent travel and clicks. The key discovery is mediocre, and our pinky is consistently having trouble finding the Delete key. However, over time, we found our typing quickly and confidently. Indeed, we composed many of these reviews using a keyboard that paired with our Nexus 5X.

Quick button

You won’t find any programmable or traditional function keys on the Keys-To-Go keyboard, but they do come with a variety of hotkeys. The Android / Windows version of the Keys-To-Go keyboard offers shortcut keys for Home, switching applications, music, letters, and more.

On the Android / Windows side, you get shortcut keys for Home, switching applications, letters, music, media playback, volume, screenshots, and searching. IOS users have to do it without mail and music hotkeys, but instead, they get a virtual keyboard and switch language keys.

Both Android / Windows and iOS users get a trio of function keys that allow you to cut, copy, and paste the text.

The Point

If you need to write a report or write a long e-mail when you’re on the road or vacation. The sturdy and comfortable Logitech Keys-To-Go keyboard will make typing on your Android or iOS device much more comfortable.

The Bad

  • No programmable keys
  • No easy way to toggle between multiple devices
  • Android version of the keyboard doesn’t support iOS, and vice-versa

The Good

  • Thin and sturdy design
  • Nice typing feel
  • Plenty of hotkeys

Conclusion > If you need to write a report or compose lengthy email while you’re on the road, the sturdy, comfy and affordable Logitech Keys-To-Go keyboard will make typing on your Android or iOS device a lot easier.
