Logitech K400 Plus Review

The K400 Plus is wireless (range 33 feet) comes with the integrated touchpad. Like any recent Logitech accessories, the K400 Plus cuts Bluetooth connectivity for a small and exclusive Unifying 2.4GHz receiver that must be plugged into the computer you want to control.

However, Logitech does not expressly declare Mac support from this product; the company says it works with Windows 7 or newer (including Windows 10), Chrome OS, and Android 5.0 or later version (but not smartphones and tablets) with the required USB port – which doesn’t say that the K400 Plus don’t compatible with OS X. K400 Plus is a plug-and-play device, the downloadable Logitech Options software does pair the keyboard with Mac, but without special control options.

The K400 Plus is a full-sized keyboard. Some functions include switching between applications, searching, maximizing windows, or controlling the default media player with the previous/next track and the play/pause button.

On top of a rather small 3-by-2-inch touchpad are the mute volume buttons and two up / down control buttons, with the traditional left and right mouse clicks below. The yellow button in the upper left corner functions as a left mouse click too. The K400 Plus can also be configured for touch taps, Caps Lock notifications, low battery warnings, and special shortcuts Using Logitech Options.

The actual key itself is not as noisy as other Logitech keyboards I’ve used, for a quieter typing experience – at 55 dbA, according to the company, which claims that plastic numbers are good for up to five million key presses. (I have to take their word for it.) The squared-off button is just the right size and depth, even though the keyboard angle is quite low and clearly not designed considering the use of a table.

Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus is an excellent price to lean and control a home theater PC, but Mac owners will want to graduate due to lack of OS X software support.
